The Wine Australia stand provided delegates with an opportunity to meet the global Wine Australia team and to learn about and better understand Wine Australia’s roles, responsibilities, services and programs and how to get involved.
As the Australian Government agency responsible for providing strategic support to the wine industry, Wine Australia offers a range of services and insights to help the wine industry make informed business decisions, protect the reputation of Australian wine, remove market access barriers and grow demand for Australian wine globally. Members of our global team were available to answer questions and discuss how you can get involved in our programs in each market.
In the area of market development, delegates learnt how to better leverage and participate in Wine Australia’s global marketing and wine education programs, including the 2013/14 market program user-pays prospectus and educational programs.
Our Wine Sector Intelligence team guided guests through the Winefacts resource on the Wine Australia website and all the information and data resources available to our industry partners.
The compliance and trade team were on hand to explain Wine Australia’s regulatory activities that protect the reputation of Australian wine, such as export licensing and permits, and the label integrity program to prevent false or misleading labeling.
The trade team also provided insights about how it works with the wine sector, the Australian Government, overseas governments, regulatory authorities and industry bodies to address international market access issues, reduce trade barriers and understand the regulatory requirements in key markets.
